Stichting Human Point
We are urgently raising funds because 950 children in Erbil (Kurdistan Region, Iraq) attend a severely dilapidated primary school every day, where classrooms are unsafe, unsanitary, and unsuitable for learning. These children, aged 6 to 12, dream of a safe place to learn, play, and grow—but their current environment puts their health, safety, and education at risk.
The Mulla Omar School is in critical condition: broken windows expose students to harsh winter winds, leaking roofs disrupt classes, and outdated electrical systems create safety hazards. The classrooms lack basic materials, forcing teachers and students to struggle daily. Without immediate intervention, these children risk losing their education and future opportunities.
Our partner organization, Education and Rehabilitation of Children in Iraq (ERCO) (www.e-iraq.org), will implement this urgent project. The plan includes:
-
Renovating 13 classrooms: painting walls, replacing the electrical system, equipping classrooms with new desks, chairs, and teaching materials.
-
Replacing broken windows with draft-proof glass to protect children from the approaching winter.
-
Renovating and expanding restrooms: currently, there is only one restroom shared by boys and girls. We will build a separate restroom for girls, with new doors, sinks, and freshly painted walls, ensuring privacy, hygiene, and dignity.
Your donation today has immediate impact:
-
€20 can provide a desk and learning materials for one child.
-
€50 can replace one classroom window to keep children warm and safe.
-
€100 can fully renovate a classroom wall and floor, creating a healthier environment.
With your help, we can create a safe, clean, and stimulating learning environment for 950 children. Every contribution, large or small, brings hope and a brighter future.
Act now—donate today to transform Mulla Omar School before winter arrives and give these children the education, safety, and opportunity they deserve.

We will renovate 13 classrooms: painting the walls, replacing the electrical system, equipping the classrooms with new desks and teaching materials, and replacing the broken windows with new, draft-proof ones – essential as winter approaches.
In addition, we will renovate the restrooms, as the school currently has only one restroom shared by boys and girls. We will build a separate restroom for the girls, installing new doors and sinks, and painting the walls to ensure their privacy and dignity.
